SAN CASSIANO – ALTA BADIA

San Cassiano in Badia is a characteristic mountain village surrounded by the fabulous Dolomites, which recently became part of UNESCO's World Heritage.
At 1.537 meters above sea level and with just 750 inhabitants the small village has a very nice characteristic “closed to traffic” centre with lots of shops, boutiques, restaurants, lounge bars and aprés-ski.
On wednesdays - during the summer season - a small local street market offers a wide range of typical products, local crafts and ladin gastronomic specialities accompanied by live music and funny play games for the children.

Thanks to its central position in the Dolomites, San Cassiano is a strategic starting point to start discovering the entire skiing paradise of Dolomiti Superski, the biggest skiing district in the world with 1200 km of skislopes. During the summer, over 400 km of mountain paths invite You to explore the wonderful landscape of Alta Badia, a “paradise on earth” for mountain lovers.

In San Cassiano you'll also find two sledge slopes, two riding stables, the “Cross-country Skiing Centre Alta Badia” with its 23 km of cross-country skiing slopes, the Ladin Museum “Ursus Ladinicus” and the famous 7,2 km long Lagazuoi downhill slope at the end of whom, strong horses drag the skiers back to San Cassiano.
If you're a history lover don't forget to visit the “Lagazuoi World War Galleries” and the adjacent Museum of The First World War located between the Falzarego pass and the Valparola pass.
